UNU-WIDER Director Finn Tarp appears on the SABC Evening News

SA-TIED operational programme manager, Finn Tarp, was featured on South African national broadcasting where he spoke to anchor, Nzinga Qunta, about the SA-TIED programme's ongoing work. 

As the Director of UNU-WIDER, one of SA-TIED's programme partners, Finn Tarp responded to public interest in the programme after South African Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni, highlighted the role that SA-TIED has in upgrading the coordinating and economic planning capacity of the economic cluster in the South African government. The minister also spoke to the programme's role in producing cutting-edge research and improving the interface between researchers and the policy-making community. 

In his appearance, Finn Tarp describes the research programme of SA-TIED, highlights the range of research topics it covers, and explains how the programme seeks to strengthen research and policy-making capacity to improve opportunities for inclusive economic development in South Africa.
